The Perseid Meteor Shower produces about 60 meteors per hour, and its performance is farily consistant from year to year. It is also called the “Tears of St. Lawrence” because it occurs roughly about the same date as St. Lawrence’s death.
This year, the Perseid Meteor Shower is on on Wednesday morning the 12th of August 2009. I think there will be Perseid Meteor Shower 2009 Live Online Telecast that you can watch.
